The Golden Circle with a Lagoon

Golden Circle tours from Reykjavik that add a soak: the Secret Lagoon, Laugarvatn Fontana, the Sky Lagoon or the Blue Lagoon. Time in the water, what entry includes, prices and ages.

Updated November 2026

Four lagoons pair with the Golden Circle from Reykjavik: the Secret Lagoon at Flúðir, Laugarvatn Fontana, the Sky Lagoon in Kópavogur and the Blue Lagoon. For a soak on the loop itself, book BusTravel Iceland’s From Reykjavik: Golden Circle, Kerid, & Secret Lagoon Tour, from US$135 a person (checked November 2026): 1.5 hours in the Secret Lagoon with entry included, plus Kerið, Geysir, Gullfoss and Thingvellir, in 10 hours. It is the least expensive of the lagoon days compared here.

The Secret Lagoon, on the loop

Map of the Golden Circle loop via the Secret Lagoon at Flúðir: Reykjavik City Hall, Þingvellir (Hakið), Geysir, Gullfoss, the Secret Lagoon 32.1 km by road from Gullfoss, and Kerið crater 39.2 km from the lagoon, 258 km by road in all
The loop with the Secret Lagoon at Flúðir: 258 km by road from Reykjavik City Hall and back, 17 km more than the loop without it.

The Secret Lagoon sits in Flúðir, 32.1 km by road from Gullfoss and 39.2 km from Kerið, so it fits into the loop with little extra driving: 258 km round from Reykjavik City Hall, against 241 km without it. It was made in 1891 and is the oldest swimming pool in Iceland, with the water at 38 to 40 °C all year (Secret Lagoon, checked November 2026).

At the door, an adult ticket is 4,500 ISK, children 14 and under 260 ISK and seniors 67 and over 3,300 ISK; a towel or a swimsuit costs 1,200 ISK each to rent. From October to May it opens daily from 10:00 to 19:00, closing at 18:00 on 24 and 31 December. Everyone showers without a swimsuit before going in (Secret Lagoon, checked November 2026). secretlagoontickets.com covers getting to Flúðir by car or bus, and the tickets.

Three of the tours above stop there. BusTravel Iceland’s and Arctic Adventures' give 1.5 hours; Gateway to Iceland (GTIce)'s an hour, after 30 minutes for lunch at Gullfoss.

Laugarvatn Fontana

Fontana is on the lake at Laugarvatn, between Thingvellir and Geysir: 31.9 km by road from Hakið and 29.6 km on to Geysir. Its own prices are 7,490 ISK for adults, 4,990 ISK for ages 6 to 15 and nothing under 6, and it is open 10:00 to 21:00 every day (Fontana, checked November 2026). It also runs a rye bread tour, where bread baked in the hot ground is dug up for tasting, sold on GetYourGuide as the Geothermal Bread-Baking Experience.

Arctic Adventures sells a Golden Circle day with Laugarvatn Fontana: a small group of at most 19, pickup in Reykjavik, Kerið, Gullfoss, Geysir, the baths with entry included and Thingvellir last, 9 hours, from US$182 (checked November 2026).

The Sky Lagoon

The Sky Lagoon is not on the loop: it is in Kópavogur, 7.6 km by road from Reykjavik City Hall, so tours put it at the end of the day. Children under 12 are not allowed in, 12 to 14-year-olds come with a guardian, and towels are free for every guest (Sky Lagoon, checked November 2026).

Nicetravel's day reaches it just before 5 PM and leaves at 7 PM, back in Reykjavik around 7:20 PM; you choose the Pure Pass or the Sky Pass when you book. BusTravel Iceland's small-group day adds Friðheimar farm, with a tomato tasting and a horse show, and 2 hours at the lagoon; it is not for children under 12, and the order of the stops can change, sometimes starting at the lagoon.

The Blue Lagoon

The Blue Lagoon is the long one. It is on the Reykjanes peninsula, the other side of Reykjavik from the Golden Circle, and these days run 11 hours. The lagoon asks everyone to book ahead; its Comfort ticket is from 11,990 ISK with a towel, a silica mud mask and one drink, and the minimum age is two (Blue Lagoon, checked November 2026).

Nicetravel's day gives about 2 hours there, with the type of entry chosen at booking and a towel; it is not for children under 5. BusTravel Iceland's minibus day gives 2 hours on the Comfort package, and is not for children under 2.
