Golden Circle Tour Price from Reykjavik

What a Golden Circle tour from Reykjavik costs, from the plain bus day to small groups, lagoon days, snowmobiles and private cars, what each price includes, and the fees paid on the spot.

Updated November 2026

A Golden Circle tour from Reykjavik costs from US$80 a person for a plain bus day to several hundred dollars with a glacier ride, and private cars are priced per group. The classic day with Kerið, BusTravel Iceland’s Reykjavik: Golden Circle Full-Day Tour with Kerid Crater, is from US$92 a person (checked November 2026). On the seven dates we read, its options started at US$101.39 from Bus Stop 12 (checked November 2026). For most first visits that is the price to beat: five stops, Kerið on morning departures, and no extras you did not ask for.

What the extra money buys

Illustration: a plain white minibus with no markings driving along a two-lane road through snow-covered, moss-humped lava fields in low winter light, steam rising from the ground far off and white mountains on the horizon
Illustration. A minibus on the road between the sights, the steam of a hot-spring field far off.

The cheapest days take you to the three big sights and back. Gray Line Iceland's covers Thingvellir, Geysir and Gullfoss in 6.5 hours. BusTravel Iceland’s adds Hveragerði and Kerið and two more hours. Above that, the money buys one of four things.

A smaller group. Arctic Adventures' afternoon tour guarantees a small group, collects you from one of 21 points and pays the Kerið fee. Nicetravel's caps its bus at 19 and collects from your hotel.

A soak. A day with the Blue Lagoon or the Sky Lagoon costs more than twice BusTravel Iceland’s bus day; a day with the Secret Lagoon adds a good deal less. Bought at the door, an adult ticket at the Secret Lagoon is 4,500 ISK and a towel 1,200 ISK (Secret Lagoon, checked November 2026); a Comfort ticket at the Blue Lagoon is from 11,990 ISK (Blue Lagoon, checked November 2026). The Golden Circle with a lagoon compares them.

A glacier. Snowmobile days cost three to four times BusTravel Iceland’s bus day, for an hour on Langjökull. Snowmobile and ice cave days covers what the weather does to that hour.

A car to yourself. Private tours are priced per group: Tulip Tours Iceland's and Aurora Globe's are both from US$780 for up to 3. Split three ways, that is still well above a small-group seat.

The classic day’s options, date by date

The US$92 on BusTravel Iceland’s calendar is the from-price. On the seven dates we read, 27 November 2026 to 14 April 2027, no option showed it:

  • Morning, from Bus Stop 12, Höfðatorg: 8:00 AM, 8.5 hours, US$101.39 a person on all seven dates.
  • Morning, with pickup from a list of locations: 8:00 AM, 8.5 hours, US$114.77.
  • Afternoon, with pickup: 12:00 PM, 7 hours, no stop at Kerið, US$105.85 on 27 November, 9 February, 10 March and 14 April; not on sale on 8 December, 22 December or 20 January.

Option prices checked on GetYourGuide in November 2026; two adults paid twice the one-adult price.

So the cheapest way onto this tour on the dates we read was to walk to Bus Stop 12 for the 8:00 AM bus, and the morning bus is also the one that stops at Kerið.

Fees paid on the spot

Map of the Golden Circle loop from Reykjavik City Hall: Þingvellir (Hakið), 47.6 km by road, Geysir, Gullfoss and Kerið crater, 241 km by road round the loop
Where the fees fall on the loop from Reykjavik City Hall: parking at Þingvellir (Hakið) and entry at Kerið crater, with Geysir and Gullfoss in between. 241 km by road.

On a tour these are mostly the operator’s. If you drive, or your tour does not include them:

  • Thingvellir parking: 1,000 ISK for a car with five seats or fewer, 1,200 ISK for six to nine seats, one payment for the day in car parks P1, P2 and P5 (Thingvellir National Park, checked November 2026).
  • Kerið: 700 ISK a person on kerid.is; 600 ISK, under-12s free, on Arctic Adventures’ page (both checked November 2026). The Kerið admission ticket is also sold ahead on GetYourGuide, from US$5 (checked November 2026).
  • Gullfoss: free to visit (gullfoss.is, checked November 2026).
  • Laugarvatn Fontana: 7,490 ISK for adults, 4,990 ISK for ages 6 to 15 (Fontana, checked November 2026).

In September 2026 the government put out for consultation a draft law that would charge adults without tax residence in Iceland ISK 4,500 for a one-year certificate covering Geysir, Gullfoss and Thingvellir; it is a draft, not law (Government of Iceland, 22 September 2026, checked November 2026).
